0=1, would you agree? No doubt you would not. Let us examine it. Zero is the contribution of India to the world. This must be the contribution of a Yogi. In an effort to express the transcendental state of consciousness he must have framed Zero. It means three things.

1. He realized that he has no end, no beginning, no birth, no death. The figure has no end no beginning.

2. Whatever is there, is inside and nothing outside it.

3. Whatever is there is in a state of oneness , i.e., there is no duality.MORE

Your mind can easily do it for you!!! It is simple.

Our mind is a super super computer. All it needs is to be fed with specific task. If we are vague about what we want to achieve then we cannot feed the mind effectively. We have to be absolutely specific.

Give the mind the right and specific work to do , but undertake our tasks one by one. Give work to the mind and give the freedom too. It will deliver the result in time. Freedom and responsibility go together. Creativity cannot surface without freedom. So it is that you have to give the mind the specific tasks and then detach. Detach and go about your daily routine as usual. The mind will do the planning, and even take care of or arrange the resource mobilization needed to undertake the project. However we have to keep working.

Our minds are enslaved by our past. The more you detach from the past , the more is the freedom the mind gets. Similarly when we are under the influence of belief systems also we are curtailing or restricting the power of the mind . An open mind is a powerful mind. An average mind is in shackles and in chains. We have to have confidence in the powers of the mind.

Our basic attitude should be "I do not know". It is not that you do not know anything. You know but the ideal attitude to carry is "I do not know". An attitude of "I do not know" keeps you, knowing new things continuously. It is surrender, it is detachment, it is silence. It is wisdom.

Average man has been injected with a heavy dose of blind beliefs, so he remains by and large unaware. When he is given specific training, lecture, or when he is pushed by necessity he comes out of his unaware state. He goes back again to unaware status.

According to ayurveda mind has two basic qualities. One is Anutwa and second is Ekatwa. These two qualities can be approximately equated to 0&1 respectively. Anutwa corresponds to 0 or infinity or the spread of mind. It really encompasses everything. This is a great strength of mind. The other quality of mind is Ekatwa which means oneness, or specificity of mind. That is the limitation as well as plus point of mind. Mind can accept only one thing at a time. So it is that we have to be very specific in our demand. The mind can churn everything at its command to deliver the answers to our queries. Though it appears simple our queries or demand will be specific only if we are fully alive to the possibilities.

It is the wrong perception that is the cause of all our weaknesses and inefficiency. As the perception changes, we change and everything changes around us.

Without mind we are nothing. All our actions spring forth from mind. So mind runs supreme as far as a human being is concerned. Mind is our greatest strength and asset. Mind is also our greatest weakness and liability. To keep bolstering our strength and asset or to make them work together for our cause we have to turn inwards, i.e., only a mind tuned inward in devotion can delve deeper into its strength and assets. Mind is the rich source of anything and everything. However we have to develop the skill to draw from it for the success of all our endeavors in a positive way.

Mind has three qualities ie, satva, rajas, and tamas. It is when the satva guna increases that there is peace, true orientation and equanimity. However when rajas and tamas increases we loose our equipoise and life becomes miserable.

Food has a direct impact on these gunas or qualities. Satvic food especially vegetarian devoid of too much salt, sour, pungent etc, will increase satvaguna.Similarly non vegetarian diet with more salt, sour pungent , overcooked, undercooked, stale etc will increase the rajoguna and tamoguna.

Similarly, the sense contacts are food for mind. Living in contact with satvic people will increase satvaguna, So also continuous interaction with miserable negative people will increase the rajoguna and tamoguna. One should practice detachment in instances where such interactions become unavoidable.

Our satvic reserve is abundant. Just give it a chance and it will take care of everything. Our satvic mind has the intelligence to nurture us, protect us and lead us in the right direction. Devotion is the key to this operation. What mind conceives, it delivers.
